Lead Story #2: Creation of humans and the original instructions

Narrated Text:

“Many versions of the Hodinöhsyo:nih Creation Story exist. It is set in a time when there existed two distinct worlds. Sky World was inhabited by spirit beings not unlike humans. At its center was a great tree whose fruits and flowers radiated blue light. Beneath this world, and unknown to it, was a boundless black sea populated by water creatures similar to those found on earth.”

Note: Hodinöhsyo:nih (prounounced Ho-den-no-show-nee) is another Seneca term for Haudenosaunee. The Mohawk term is Rotinoshon:ni (prounounced Ro-dee-no-shoh-nee).
