The two outer rows of white wampum beads represent the Kaianere’kó:wa (Great Law of Peace) and the Great Peace that results from the application of the Great Law.
Some say it represents the protective circle of the joined arms of the Confederacy Chiefs and Clan Mothers.
Within this circle hang fifty single strands of white shell wampum. Each strand represents a different title of the chieftainship of the various family clans.
Every Haudenosaunee child is born within this circle. The law is their birthright. They are born with responsibilities to the Circle, and to the Earth.
